Unlocking Nature's Secrets
This article is a response to reader request if you'd like me to answer any questions , discuss a certain topic or etc... simply contact me on Facebook.
In our artificially obsessed world where everyone enjoys a quick fix; if you have any wisdom at all you know how fleeting and artificial those fixes are. You may look nice now but fast-forwards 10-15 years and (insert cheesy thriller music here ___). Yes it will be that scary. I've personally seen before and after results. Greatness never comes without work Dolls and Dukes!- and most importantly it's never achieved through shortcuts.
So I know what you're asking now; where are you going with this...Well its simple. I'm talking about something that's essential to every pinup girl, rockabilly queen, and greaser. A great palette. Or to say it plainer great skin. Look we all know this isn't just a look for us its a lifestyle therefore we're all conscious of how we present ourselves.
Great skin is one of the top ingredients on that list, if your skins not great nothing else is. (no matter how hard you try concealer doesn't hide but so much.) The sun tells all Dolls. So stick around I got some great tips, plus some D.I.Y.'s that are natural, won't break the bank and are guaranteed to have you looking great.
The Big not so Grand Reveal LoL
First and foremost great skin starts on the inside not on the out. Believe it or not but the state of your skin is actually a reflection of state of ones health. For example with good health the skin is bright , will have a youthful glow and clear. All of the things we do want our skin to be.However with bad health skin will generally appear dull, lifeless, prone to
breakouts and other stress related skin diseases. Now this isn't set in stone its a general statement you will find that these things will go both ways depending on the person. In the end it depends on the work you put in.
As I said you can't begin skincare with taking care of the body first, and water is one of the best things for that. if you're not already drinking it you should be drinking at least 8 glasses a day. Or more. If you're a person that suffers from dry skin, eczema (which i do), acne or anything like that; drinking an abundance of water will do wonders for. As well as detoxing. On the weekends take a lemon and squeeze it into a gallon of water. Then proceed to drink 2 gallons over the weekend, it will flush out your system from the inside out.
One thing you always learn starting from grade school is K.I.S.S. keep it simple stupid well the same goes for your skin. An Anti-aging should be incorporated into your rΓ©gime at all ages (if you expect to be a silver minx later, you need to have it together now), also complicated skin routines confuse the skin and often produce the opposite effect you'd been hoping for. God gave us everything we need to sustain ourselves found right within nature itself. The chemicals and byproducts that are put in our beauty products today are astounding, using natural products is both great for the environment but your pocket as well. You can find a subsequent replacement for each store brought product with essential oils, fruits, veggies and just about anything in your kitchen. You'll find yourself replacing a wealth of everyday items from moisturizers, to exfoliators, and even sunscreen. (if you have a allergy do not use the subsequent essential oil/ organic oil of the nut, fruit, etc..., replace the oil for something of your own preference.)
A good skincare regime should consist of an alternation between a gentle preferably creamy or soap cleanser and an exfoliant. I know you hear and read all the time about 'toners' but here's my opinion-you don't need them. A lot of times they actually do the reverse in what you think they're doing. D.I.Y. products are amazing and the best way to go. Its a great way to luxuriate; plus you'll be surprised how both cost efficient and what great gifts they make. So grab your paper and pen cause I'm sharing all of my favorite at home skincare recipes. Also I'm giving you, your shopping list for all you're future at home skincare endeavors.
* I have and do use all recipes that I have shared. So no worries that I am just experimenting on you guys lol*
This DIY scrub is a favorite of mine, the sugar is a much better exfoliate to use than salt because its much gentler on the skin. The strawberries are rich in vita-C. So not only will the induce collagen production but also brighten and clarify the skin and the coconut oil is an amazing moisturizer plus it also brighten, helps with blemishes, and a host of other great things.
- Grab a container with an airtight lid. This will need to be refrigerated.
- Pour in and mix together: 1/2 cup sugar (you can subistute brown for white, works just as well) . 1/4 cup of melted coconut oil (you can buy liquefied coconut oil. its just a bit more expensive). You want the mix to be blended but not a paste; if that happens add a tinsy bit more sugar and mix it in.
- In a separate bowl cut and mash 2 large ripe strawberries. They don't have to be complete mush. Small bits is actually perfect.
4. Mix in the strawberries with the sugar scrub. Don't stir too much cause you don't want to mash up the berries.
*Massage gently onto your face, neck, and chest, leave it on for 3-5 minutes to give the strawberries and chance to do their thing. Then rinse off. Your skin will be smooth, glowing and soft.
Glowing Face Mask
This mask I recommend you do no more than once a week. You can get the ingredients right out of your cabinets. It will have your skin baby soft and JLo glowing.
- Wash your face with warm water
- Mix 1 tsp honey
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- Mix all of this together with a glass of water and it should form a paste.
- Slather on your face and set timer for 10 - 20 minutes ( no more than 20 minutes)
- Wash of with warm water
*If you add too much water just add a bit more baking soda and stir until you find a that soot's you.
Fellow Eczema Suffers
- You only need two things which everyone has in the fridge and cabinet. Yogurt and Turmeric.
- Mix the two ingredients, you don't need to bother with measurements just eyeball it. You know it's ready when the mixture turns a yellowish color.
- Get right on in there and use your hands. Spread it on your face evenly avoiding the eye area.
- Leaving on for about 15 minutes then rinse off with warm water.
- Afterwards moisturize . I recommend either coconut oil or Argon oil
Rosacea /butterfly rash Mask
I have a very very mild case of rosacea plus not to mention being a lupie the butterfly rash is a big problem of mine. After doing countless searches a few years ago I came across this recipe from a natural lifestyle guru on YouTube.
- You need 3tsp oatmeal, 3tsp yogurts, 1 tsp. raw honey, 2 tsp. organic apple cider, a 5 tsp. cup of lukewarm green tea
- In a bowl mix all these ingredients together until the color is white.
- Apply to the face be careful to be gentle and focus on the areas that are affected most by the rosacea or butterfly rash.
- Leave on for 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water. Important! do not follow up with any cleanser or soap. this is all you need to do.
- Okay you won't see any dramatic results this is a stick with it thing. You'll want to do this one no more than two times a week every month.
- Also if you feel like you aren't seeing enough difference up the apple cider to 4 tsps. But try the 2 first.
My Favorite Facial Cleansers
Like I said I can go on and on in listing the benefits of using natural ingredients your skin care regime. I've given you guys some great masks and scrubs for all types of problems and uses. Now here's some cleanser that won't break your budget but they will also literally transform your skin and help turn back the clock.
- Honey Cleanser
- Honey is nature's great little secret it has so many uses I literally don't have the time to name them all.
- Pour a bit of honey in the palm of your hand. Gently scrub clockwise on your face; then wash off with a warm rag.
- To use a makeup remover or scrub. Pour a bit of the honey onto your wet rag then add a dash of baking soda on top. You want just enough to add some grittiness. Then wash as normal.
2. Oil Method
- This isn't as scary as it sounds. It won't drench your skin in oil, or subject you to acne. Or anything else you can think of.
- All you do is take a bit of oil in your hand then scrub. Afterwards wash off with a washcloth
- The best oils to use are virgin olive oil,
- oil, hazelnut oil,
- You can use this method for your entire body

Well Doll's I hope this goes without saying but I'm not a medical professional or a expert by any means. These are just things I've learned through the years by trail and era and advice given to me. Obviously if you have any sort of major medical condition consult your doctor before trying any of these at-home recipes (I don't expect to be getting any hate mail darlings). But have fun with this and explore. Look up different recipes and add your own ingredients to what I've given you. And I hope to the pictures and your fabulous new skin soon.
